Indonesia is a democratic and constitutional country that emphasizes the principle of the rule of law in accordance with the 1945 Constitution. The Constitutional Court is the highest law enforcement institution in Indonesia. Changes regarding age limits really reflect political and social dynamics,The important role of the Constitutional Court is in responding to the social and political evolution that occurs in society. In a Constitutional Court decision regarding the new meaning regarding the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates according to the General Election (Election Law) it was deemed not to be in conflict with the 1945 Constitution. The Constitutional Court emphasized that there is a hierarchy in the levels of government. Therefore, the age limit requirements for becoming president and vice president are made in stages taking into account all existing legal aspects. The change in these requirements could have an impact in the form of Escalation of political power and the level of trust will decrease in state institutions because they think that the Constitutional Court has been appointed by political power.
