Olahraga Sebagai Instrumen "Soft Power" dan Legitimasi Kekuasaan: Analisis Politik Kebijakan Olahraga Nasional

Olahraga sering kali dipandang sebagai ranah yang netral dan bebas dari kepentingan politik. Namun, dalam perkembangannya, olahraga bertransformasi menjadi instrumen strategis bagi pemegang otoritas untuk memperkuat pengaruh dan posisi tawar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kebijakan olahraga nasional digunakan sebagai instrumen soft power sekaligus alat legitimasi kekuasaan oleh pemerintah. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur dan analisis kebijakan, penelitian ini membedah dinamika politik di balik alokasi anggaran, pembangunan infrastruktur megah, dan narasi prestasi atletik yang diproduksi oleh negara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesuksesan di arena olahraga tidak hanya berfungsi mendongkrak nasionalisme, tetapi juga secara efektif digunakan untuk mengalihkan perhatian publik dari isu-isu krusial, membangun citra positif rezim, dan memperkuat hegemoni politik di tingkat domestik maupun internasional. Kebijakan olahraga nasional pada akhirnya kerap kali menjadi cerminan dari kepentingan elite penguasa untuk mengamankan stabilitas kekuasaan mereka.
